Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have been working hard all year on building reading stamina. They are really excited about reading, which is awesome.

Our new issue is we need more books of interest to keep them reading.

Some of their favorites are from the Who Is, Who was series. They love reading non-fiction stories.

Another series they are very interested in is The Babysitter’s Club graphic novel series. They are very interested in these books and keep on requesting these books. We have a few of these books and are read daily.

We have many books from the Who Is/ Who was series, but there are so many books in this series that they continue to request.

These new books will be well used and loved in our classroom.

My students are asking for books about people who have helped change our world, especially books about people that look like them. They want to read about people from their culture as well as books about people from many cultures.
