Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Everyday my dyslexic students receive 90 minutes of explicit and direct instruction in reading. Due to this, their reading levels have soared. They have not only learned to read, they are enjoying reading.

These dyslexic students have fallen in love with reading and are soaking in everything they read!

I always want to encourage that love of reading, so I allow them to read during any breaks, and I allow them to take home books of their choice to read.

We are a growing school without a library enrichment time right now, and they have read everything in my small classroom library. This donation would allow me to increase the number of books I have based on my students' interests and allow them to increase their knowledge by diving into these books!

Mrs. West will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 22.
