My students need intriguing chapter books for book club reading groups. Our titles include Walk Two Moons, The Mouse and the Motorcycle, Hatchet, Stone Fox and more.
This coming school year I will be moving to a school with a high number of students with mixed abilities who receive free or reduced lunches. I will be teaching 4th grade and am eager to build a classroom of critical thinking real-world problem solvers who love to read! I hope to inspire my twenty-eight 9-10 year old students with quality and rigorous texts. I want my students to know I believe in them and know they can succeed no matter what!
My Project
Book clubs are a fabulous way for students to practice fluency, comprehension, and strengthen important speaking and listening skills with their peers. I would like to offer my students more choice in the books they select for books clubs and need more variety in our classroom.

Our titles include Walk Two Moons, The Mouse and the Motorcycle, Hatchet, Stone Fox and more. By offering choice students will be more apt to fall in love with a good book. The books chosen are classics every 4th grader should have the chance to read. The books will be of interest to both girls and boys in the classroom. I need a way for my students to have in-depth conversations about literature and book clubs will make it happen.
