The kids at my school come to school each and every day, energized and ready to learn. We are located in the great state of Nebraska. Our school is not a Title I school, so funding for extra supplies is not in the budget. There are students with family members serving in the military, students who are English Language Learners and many more.
We need diverse books to use during storytime in kindergarten.
We need new books for storytime as well as markers to use for writing and drawing.
Kindergarten is an important year of school for the children.
It is the first year they are working together as a team, so every child can succeed!
We need storage boxes to keep all our literacy materials organized and easily accessible. The boxes are able to hold the books to keep them safe. The boxes will allow us to see what is in the box.
We need new read-aloud books to share during storytime to show the diversity of our world.
Books like Wordy Birdy will help us work on when it is the appropriate time to talk and learn how to listen. Jumping into Kindergarten and the Pigeon Has To Go To School will share stories of animals starting kindergarten and how they feel about the new adventure of school. Hair Love and I Am Enough will show the diversity of our town and also show how we are the same and different.
We need dry erase markers to express our creativity, write sentences, and illustrate pictures during our day and center time.
