I teach 7th and 8th grade English/Language Arts in a small, rural Arkansas public school. My classroom is full of diverse talents and interests; it is my goal to help these students bloom! I want to bring more resources and opportunities to my students, so I am reaching out to you for help.
In my classes, I have some reluctant readers.
I feel it would be beneficial to my students to add some new, high-interest books to my classroom bookshelf. Some of my learners have limited methods of receiving books on their level and/or interest.
My Project
My students have access to our school library for 3 periods per day. Students who enjoy reading, find time to make it to the library, but reluctant readers do not ask to go as often. I have a small classroom library but would like to continue adding books so they can have more opportunities to select books that are on their reading level and that may interest them. I have selected a variety of books of various genres, character types, and reading abilities in an attempt to enhance the options that are readily available to my students. I would like to make this an ongoing project so my library continues to build.
