My Project

Middle school students struggle to fit into their own skin. With these books in verse they will have the opportunity to explore a variety of stories about kids who are fighting a similar battle. Students will be given a new medium, narrative through verse, in which to find their place in the world.

Students will explore these coming of age texts, with their classmates, in small group literature circles.

They will be used to work on reading skills, communication skills, and communication/discussion skills.

Students will then be given the opportunity to write their own story, using the texts as a model.
