Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are a school that is getting new students every day as their families come to the United States. Almost 40 have joined our school since January 1. Often called 'Newcomers', these students have had interrupted schooling for weeks, months, and possibly years before arriving to our school. We are welcoming them with open arms, but we need your help with books! We start every school day with reading and we were not prepared need so many books in Spanish.

Please help us to have high interest books for our Spanish speakers to read in Spanish.

We need more books that they can read immediately. We know that reading in their native language will help them to improve literacy in both English and Spanish. Our goal is that they will read in English eventually, but until then, we just want them reading! These books will make that happen.
