This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It is very important to have books for all students in the library. Recently, there has been an influx of Spanish speaking students who are still working on their English language skills. These students want the same high interest books as their English-speaking peers, and it is important that these books are available to them.
Having a solid Spanish language book collection in the library will help make our library be appealing and welcoming to all students.
Every student should be able to find new and high interest books in a language that is accessible to them.
Unfortunately, Spanish books are quite expensive and with limited library funds it is hard to prioritize these texts. This project will really help boost the Spanish book collection.
