Books in Every Backpack: Keeping Stories Safe

Help me give my students protective book covers so they can confidently take their 8th grade English books home, care for shared classroom resources, and enjoy consistent, comfortable reading opportunities wherever their learning takes them.

My Project

Our 8th-grade students are enthusiastic, growing readers who take pride in caring for their learning materials. They appreciate the opportunity to bring their books home, which allows them to continue exploring literature beyond the classroom and share stories with their families.

This project will provide protective book covers so students can safely transport their books, reducing wear and tear, minimizing the need for frequent replacements, and easing the financial burden of damaged book fees on families.

These covers will help students take ownership of both their reading and the care of our shared classroom resources, building responsibility and fostering a love of independent reading.

Our students are special because they value learning, take responsibility for their materials, and are excited to grow as readers both inside and outside of school. This project will support their academic growth while promoting equity and care for shared resources.
