Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach first grade at a two-way immersion school where both native Spanish speakers and native English speakers come together to learn a new language from one another. My sweet, bilingual students are hard-working, kind, and a joy to teach. I am so proud to be their teacher!

I am requesting books that my students will be able to take home, bags to transport them in, and new headphones for our classroom.

My students love books! Several years ago, my district provided "Literacy Kits" for students to take to and from school so that they would have access to books at home. I have used these kits for two years now and my families love them. However, some books have gone missing, so this project will help supply replacement books and bags to transport them. Additionally, I am requesting new headphones for our classroom to replace some that no longer work. Students can use them to listen to "Read to Me" books on their iPads or to block out noise as they are reading independently.
