This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to read. Every year, I challenge them to a forty book challenge based on Donalyn Miller's book, "The Book Whisperer". It is fascinating to watch students develop a love of reading and read books in different genres. Picking up new books, keeps students going!

Books by different authors show students different views on the world.

These books will help students fill in their categories and continue to be successful in their reading challenges. Getting a book with a cover you might relate to, helps reluctant readers find connections they may not have had before. Let's help students be successful!
