This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are eager to learn and love to move. Our building is comprised of K-6th grade. Our teachers are always looking for ways to increase student engagement in this fast pace world.

All 60+ of my students have the ability to do great things.

Unfortunately, most of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Our teachers strive to make our building a safe environment where students can learn and grow.

We will grow and move together not only physically but academically as well. I move, you move, WE ALL GROW!!

My Project

The purchase of these books will allow my students to take journeys together as they read identical books such as Maniac Magee, Hoot, etc.

Students are excited to journey together as they discuss, anticipate, and predict details in the book.

Creating literature circles will enhance the learning environment of the students in our family.

The goal of the literature circles is to increase students interest in reading. Increasing students engagement in reading will create academic gains. Students will be intrigued by the discussion with peers they will be unaware of the academic growth. I read, you read, WE ALL READ!!
