This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My ENL students must keep up with the latest shifts in education to spark an interest in reading as well as build on their language. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interest of my students. Students in my classroom like to read picture books or graphic novels. My school media center doesn?t have a large collection of books, so I would like to have books will hold their interests and keep them reading in my classroom.

Struggling readers will often pick up a comic book or picture book because the pictures and visuals are less intimidating than a typical book.

Students who read these pictire books or graphic novels find reading fun and want to read more for enjoyment! Helping students begin to learn that reading is fun is perfect way to build better readers and build on language. Picture books and Graphic Novels are an entrance to better reading skills for reluctant and beginning readers. My ENL students will just be overjoyed with having these books as part of our classroom library.
