This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Working in a K-8 school allows you to get to know the students who remain in one place for more than a year. On the other hand, a transient population makes it difficult for students to feel comfortable and accepted.

Many students have greater difficulties at home which makes school their safe haven.

The full inclusion model allows for students with a range of disabilities to feel welcome and accepted. Even through all the difficulties these students have faced, they all want to succeed.

My Project

These leveled texts will help all students enjoy reading. Grades K-6 in our school are participating in the BSRI (Bay State Reading Institute) model for English class. With this model, all students are required to be reading a different text, based on their level.

Students reading at a third grade level will now enjoy reading, these texts will help them practice their skills with books on their level.

When this structure started today, the kids were overjoyed to read a book they would be able to understand. The addition of these books will help the students sit back, relax, and enjoy.
