Help me give my students a wide array of books including Brown Bear, Brown Bear to read and be read to, so they can increase vocabulary and reading skills and will be prepared for kindergarten.

My Project

My classroom is filled with happy and hungry four-year-olds who are excited to learn so much and prepare for kindergarten. One of the most important aspects of early learning is the exposure to and interest in books. The love for books in this classroom is so fun to watch from reading with a friend, to being read to and even to our book readers reading to their friends for story times. It doesn’t phase them that they can’t actually read. They love to point out the parts of a book and hold the books and flip pages. They amaze me at how well they can recall and retell the stories.

These books will allow the students to choose books of their interest and books to encourage excellent social emotional skills.

Our classroom library is one of the most used and utilized areas of our classroom. From teacher story times, to puppet retelling, to independent reading times, children love books! Isn’t that what we desire from children so that they have a deep love for reading and literature in later years? I know these books will be cherished and loved as other books have been every day.
