When we opened all of the new materials that YOU helped purchase, they were on the edge of excitement! I guess the thing I loved the most was hearing they tell me what they already knew to do with these great items and how to use them. Having such great materials in the classroom to show their emotions and to learn and grow will get them so much higher in their thinking skills and their social emotional skills.\r\nWe have utilized the amazing baskets around the classroom with calming materials as well as books and writing materials. The kids love them! And you will love this.... one of their favorite things in this project is the UNO GAME! I love that so much! So many skills to learning through playing this game but because it's so small and simple, it often get overlooked. \r\nWe just want to attempt to thank you again for making this project possible! Keep an eye out for our classroom in the future. One of my favorite things to do is most definitely read alouds and story times and I love having great books and matching materials so I hope to do a literacy project with some items for story telling and \r\nretelling. :) Thank you and God bless!!","fullyFundedDate":1734542323765,"projectUrl":"project/a-little-emotion-control/8767407/","projectTitle":"A Little Emotion Control","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Vicki","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7406605_orig.jpg?crop=344,344,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1598629483755","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/vickis-wilson"},{"teacherId":7406605,"projectId":8976088,"letterContent":"Oh, what an exciting day we had on what we call \"Grand Opening of Materials\"! We explained a little about why we were receiving new materials and how YOU all helped us to be blessed with these items. They were so excited and so very thankful! \r\n\r\nThe arrival of the materials could not have come at a better time. We returned from Christmas break and began a unit study about Boxes and straight into a study of Water. We were able to put out so many materials to help enrich these studies in our center and free choice areas. The children have been so engaged in the sand and water table area with having new sand to explore. They have flooded our art center which sometimes is not as busy simply because of the new play-dough, art supplies and glue sticks. They have created so many forms of art to show what they have learned in the studies. \r\n\r\nWe have also read our new books, and they have loved adding to their \"Mama Llama\" knowledge by having a new story. We have been able to be so specific in our small group times using the find motor materials such as Mr. Potato Head and the tool pouch and tools. I wish there were words to express our gratitude for your donations to this project and making these items available to this classroom of low-income students.
