Books for Wax Museum Research 1

Help me give my students books to research figures in history to work on a "Wax Museum" project.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Hansberry's classroom raised $386

This project is fully funded

My Project

These books will be used for students to research an important figure in either past or present. The books are predominately about important women, important women of color, or important People of color. Students will be able to read about their person and then create a trifold presentation that tells all about their person. At the end of designing their trifold, students can dress as their person and present a short monologue pretending they are that person.

This project is what is called a Wax Museum.

Wax Museums are project based learning that incorporate multiple content areas such as reading, writing, technology, art, and social studies. Students also will get to display various forms of intelligence when doing a Wax Museum. Finally, if students work with a partner, they are also getting to learn collaboration and communication skills.

Lastly, when we look back on our school years, large projects and project based learning are often what we remember the most. We used to do this Wax Museum each year in 5th grade before the pandemic. This will be the first year we bring it back. Help my students create life long memories!
