This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have had the wonderful opportunity this school year to host a book club for a special group of second graders at my school. My school is in the heart of a low economic status neighborhood and serves mostly children who live in poverty.

We just finished reading book 1 of "Eerie Elementary" and they absolutely loved it.

So we are now going to go to book 2. My goal is to provide each student with book 3 of the series so they can read the book during their summer vacation.

I believe that providing students with books to take home will help encourage them to continue growing as readers and may even help them develop a love for reading. Thank you for your kind consideration.
