Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are superstars! We have such a great community of students at TEC. They are hard workers with dreams of success for their future. Ninety-nine percent of our students qualify for free or reduced-priced lunch. For many of our students English is not their primary language. We try our best to create an environment of loving learning, especially literacy. Our students get very excited whenever we get new supplies in our classroom. Thank you in advance for thinking of us!
My Project
Every year, I try to add to my scholars at home libraries by providing them with a book to read over spring break. So much learning is lost during breaks when students do not have books to read at home. I have spoken with all of my students about books they would like to read over the break and have posted them here. Many of our students are struggling readers that cannot afford to lose the time away from school. Funding this project will allow them to have at least one good book to read over the week long break.
