This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Funding books on social-emotional learning, STEM, and under represented communities will empower third graders in a Title I San Bernardino school by reflecting their diverse identities, building empathy, and nurturing curiosity. Access to these books fosters critical thinking, emotional resilience, and cultural pride—key foundations for lifelong success. In a community often underserved, such resources can close opportunity gaps and inspire students to envision brighter futures. Representation matters; when children see themselves and others positively portrayed, they’re more likely to engage, achieve, and thrive in and beyond the classroom.
