My students are 3/4 year olds. We live in a suburban area where many students receive financial assistance. We are a very small district. Some of these students will be going to school for the first time. I would like to expose my students to a variety of books for my learning centers. Children learn through play and its a big part of our curriculum to have various books in our different learning centers. I just met my new students for the first time today during our Pre-K Orientation. These children are looking forward to school and look forward to learning new things. Being exposed to a variety of books is huge and extremely important for children. I am looking forward to being able to provide more books for my classroom .
My Project
These books will enhance my students understanding and expose them to the various topics that we discuss in class. These books will be placed into my different learning centers for the students to look at and then these books will be read to the students during story time or small group sessions.
Learning through play is a big part of our curriculum.
Teaching students everyday lessons and exposing them to various topics such as grocery shopping, recipes/cooking, construction workers, Art, Alphabet and Numbers, How to care for a pet etc. Children love to look at books and love to have stories read to them. I would love to freshen up my library of books in my classroom and give my students educational and age-appropriate books to look at and to read.
