Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in an inner-city public school, I've learned so much from my students' resilience. They inspire me to be the best teacher that I can be every day. I teach in the heart of the Bronx. My school is a Title I school. This means that my students are at risk of failure and live at or near poverty. Although they face hardships and cope with a variety of circumstances at home, they walk into my classroom with incredible enthusiasm and a desire to learn.
I teach 30 bright and enthusiastic children that deserve to have a fair and equal opportunity to obtain a high-quality education.
My Project
Help to stock my classroom library with a wide variety of books. Books that will help my third-grade students fall in love with reading! Early reader chapter books, biographies, informational texts on all sorts of topics and series books with exciting characters just to name some genres that are desperately needed in my classroom.
I'd like to provide my students with a cozy library nook filled with books that will pique their interest and keep them wanting to read!
Your support of this project will add much-needed books to my classroom library that all of my students will be able to read and enjoy. Along with building life long confident readers, your support will transform our classroom library into a cozy space that my students will love.
