My Project
Our 9th grade english team wants to improve racial and climate justice representation in an upcoming literature circle unit.
These books are at a lexile level for 9th-12th grade students and we will give our students a choice in which books they would like to read in an upcoming literature circle unit in 9th grade english.
The books include No Planet B: A Teen Vogue Guide to the Climate Crisis, A Bigger Picture: My Fight to Bring a New African Voice to the Climate Crisis, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind: Creating Currents of Electricity and Hope (P.S.), and All We Can Save: Truth, Courage, and Solutions for the Climate Crisis.
Students will read this books in 9th grade english to improve their ability to tackle non-fiction text to better prepare them for courses in 10th-12th grade and college and career opportunities after high school.
