This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are remarkable scholars that love literacy. They are experiencing a gap in their access to high quality books that are at their level. We are trying to invest students in reading, by helping them see that reading is a remarkable journey.

We want students to see books as both mirrors and windows; mirrors being books that reflect who they are, and windows being worlds that are different to theirs but that they want to learn about.

We hope that by providing them with these books and book bins to keep them inside in, we can provide both mirrors and windows to our scholars.
