Books for Juneteenth: Celebrating Black Liberation

Help me give my students a collection of books honoring Juneteenth! This month we celebrate black liberation and emancipation! These books will allow me to celebrate as well as educate.

My Project

The month of June is when we celebrate Juneteenth. Students often ask me about this holiday and this year I wanted to be prepared with a resources for education surrounding this holiday. The books I have chosen are carefully considered in order to create understanding about Juneteenth.

The books are for a younger audience (K-5) and have topics that range from Juneteenth specifically and what the holiday is about, honoring trailblazers who have made waves with new inventions and discoveries, as well as those who have faced discrimination who were brave and overcame.

Your donation would mean the world in helping my students become familiar with the meaning of Juneteenth and what it means as a national holiday. Thank you for your consideration!
