My Students

I am a 3 Pre-Kindergarten teacher in a low-income public school in the Bronx. My class is filled with 15 vibrant, eager learners. My students needs are important for me. My students are bright and enthusiastic students ready to learn. My class is located in a low income area.

My students are bright and very dedicated students.

My students need real life experiences in order to make real life connections. I will like to provide that exposure for them. I want to get them ready for the future. I try to provide my students with whatever I can give them. Students tend to have embedded in their memory exciting experiences from school. I want my students to have the experience of coding with a robot in school. I want to shape their lives and careers through STEM.

My Project

This is my first year teaching 3K. I would like to obtain, with your help, a library for my 3 pre-kindergartners. I don't have a library to provide for them. I will like my students to initiate the enjoyment of reading like I do. I will like to provide them with hard carboard book sets that will allow them to enjoy picture and sensory books to enjoy.

My students are very enthusiastic students.

When you ask a child, "what is your favorite book?"; what is their answer, "I don't know?" Is this an answer we as adults and educators would like to hear from a child. I want my students to enjoy and love reading at a young age. How can I achieve this goal? My idea would be to encourage students to enjoy reading. How can this be accomplished by providing students with books they can connect to and enjoy.

My students love to have conversations with each others. My students desperately need books to have the two favorite things they enjoy doing which is read and have a conversation with each other. What more exciting than walking to a classroom where a group of students are having conversations about books and sharing. This is a perfect ideal situation I would love to see in my classroom especially to build that skill for 3 year olds exploring and learning.

I would like my students to interact and have a discussion of a book that they are all reading about.
