My Project
I teach at a vibrant inner-city school, rich in diversity, and I am committed to enhancing our classroom library to authentically represent the various cultures and races of my students. It is essential for every child to find multiple books featuring characters that reflect their own identities on our shelves. This isn’t just about having one or two titles; it’s about building a comprehensive collection that showcases a wide range of stories and experiences. By doing this, we not only celebrate diversity but also empower our students to see themselves in the literature they read.
