My Project
I am looking for books that help teach social-emotional learning. As a school social worker, I work with all types of students and help them recognize and manage their emotions. Students find it easy to relate to stories when learning about abstract concepts and emotions like guilt or anxiety. These stories that I personally selected focus on big emotions, life skills, mindfulness, and how to take action as a citizen of the world!
We want our students to know how to recognize emotions in themselves and others.
These stories will build their social-emotional competence so they can care for themselves and others. They will help students develop coping strategies and ways to help with self-regulation. Since there is currently not space in my office to store the books, the bins will help make sure that they are readily accessible for students.
