This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach English for Speakers of Other Languages and my students are rambunctious, energetic, and most importantly: they are hungry to learn
Unfortunately, many of the books in my classroom are geared towards students who are native speakers.
Books that are at the reading level for my English language learners are too "kiddy" and more for pre-K or low elementary school.
The sets of books I ask for are age-appropriate and relevant to the issues they are experiencing. I would highly appreciate any contribution someone could make for my students.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
