My students need BOOKS, BOOKS, and more BOOKS!!! I am looking to grow our lending library so that my students can continue to read a variety of quality books nightly.
The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go. ~Dr. Seuss
My class is full of a group of eager to learn, energetic, bright, happy and enjoyable second graders.
They absolutely LOVE to read and look for any opportunity to pull out a book and get lost in a new adventure. I have a pretty good classroom library; however, my lending library is not so big. I have very few books that I can send home with students. Unfortunately, we don't have access to a functioning school library with a librarian, so my classroom library has been all that they have had access to. I am running out of books to introduce them to and keep their interest.
My Project
By helping me add new and interesting chapter books to my lending library, students will be given the opportunity to have access to quality literature every night. I encourage students to talk about their books at the dinner table and to share their literary adventures with their family and friends. By doing this, my students are improving their reading and comprehension abilities while also making books a part of their everyday life.
By donating to this project, you are feeding my students' appetite to read.
You are helping to develop life long learners. And, you are supporting the academic success of students who genuinely love to learn. By supporting this project, my students will be able to borrow books nightly- including over the weekend. My students love to read and they need more books!
