This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The books selected for his project will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create.

I teach fifth grade English Language Arts and invest the time to have book clubs throughout the school year, hence books have a very special place in our hearts.

Every book that is placed in my classroom has been treated with love and care. My students thrive with books and are very grateful for reading. In the beginning of the school year, my fifth graders were asked to participate in a 40-Book Challenge, which has encouraged them to read independently. Yet, this has created a domino effect. Since they've discovered new books and authors, they're now interested in new book series and book genres. Some are interested in reading mystery books, while others are eager to read realistic fiction, especially about friendships. Having these books accessible to them will make a world difference, especially since the majority of my students don't have the luxury to have books of their own at home. Let's bring books to our students' hands and foster the love of reading!
