I have 19 energetic and eager to learn 1st graders who love to dance, sing, move, and play. Their enthusiasm for everything is contagious. The smile on their faces as they walk into my classroom each and every day warms my heart and motivates me to be a better teacher.
My classroom is filled with students from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds and with a wide variety of social, emotional, and educational needs.
I strive to make every day safe, meaningful and educational to each and every one of them.
Using a dictionary is a skill that many students don't know how to do. I want to have a class set of dictionaries so I can easily introduce the basics of dictionaries and how to use them as well as all the different amount of information that a dictionary supplies. In addition, one of the Workshop Jobs that my students complete weekly is a listening center journal. It is unanimously their favorite option while I am working with small reading groups. I need to update my listening center library to provide them with more options that tie into our reading curriculum.
