I need to create a professional development library for our staff to connect with our learners and grow in our knowledge of best practices in math, reading, and writing!

My Students

The students in our elementary range from pre-school to 5th grade in age. Our building is unique, as it not only has general education students, but three self contained special education rooms, two classics for ABA, and preschool. We also house the district's only elementary high ability program. We are located in an urban area, but have students bus from outside of the district to enter our programs. Over 60% of our school uses free/reduced lunch programs. With such a variety of students in the building, teachers have to constantly train and grow their own knowledge to keep students' love for learning high!

The staff and children at at this elementary school are some of the hardest working and compassionate people I have ever met.

Educators are constantly trying to tap into the importance of relationships with these students, so that they keep coming back and feeling loved.

My Project

Our staff are some of the hardest workers out there. The teachers reach out for their own means of professional development by attending conferences when they can to grow in best practices. Leaving our students takes away time we could have in the classroom. In order to bring new knowledge to our staff, a new professional development library for the teachers lounge would be perfect!

Teachers and staff work hard to connect with students and meet them where they're at.

These resources and books will assist the teachers in learning new ideas for exciting lessons, relationships with our children, and building our school culture. The library is especially beneficial for the teachers who are on the go or have families that prevent them from going to conferences out of town. Showing up for students help us continue to grow!
