My Students

My students live in lower socioeconomic neighborhoods that require support and resources for learning. A challenge my building faces is the money to provide resources in the classrooms.

By providing books for our youngest of learners will help teach non print concepts as well as help scaffold instruction while in the preschool class.

A large percentage of our students live in multi-family member homes, foster homes, other family members and friends' homes, and hotels/motels. These students and families may not have the financial freedoms to provide extra resources above and beyond what is in the school already. By helping provide resources for the classrooms, you are allowing the student to learn skills to be successful as they grow.

My Project

Each year there are many students that require additional resources, such as books and academic supports, that help them keep up with other peers, practice their learning, and grow. Students with significant needs require other resources to help the youngest of learners.

These requested books will help navigate and guide students while trying to learn and grow with literacy while in the classroom.

Children need supports that go above and beyond the typical classroom needs. These supports are what makes special education so special. By helping provide these specific resources, students will be able to learn and work on skills to help them succeed in their school careers.
