This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The last time I was able to see my kindergarten students in person was on March 12th- the last day of school before schools were closed in our area due to the coronavirus. When our school closed our team of kindergarten teachers worked tirelessly to design at home learning experiences for our students online.

Unfortunately, the hard reality of our situation is that many of our students lack the resources to access and complete online learning activities.

My Project

The goal of this project is to get more books into the hands of my little learners!

Studies have shown that there is a correlation between the number of books in a child's home and their overall education level.

More books = more learning opportunities!

If funded, I will deliver each of these bundles of books to my students' homes so that they can continue learning at home and over the summer. Every book bundle contains 5 fiction books specially selected for kindergarten and think sheets that correlate with the books. They also include a reading journal, a postcard, and a set of colored pencils.

These materials will help students continue their learning even though they are not able to access online learning materials!
