My Students

First-grade students come to school eager and ready to learn! They are energetic and enthusiastic and truly deserve all that I can give them.

My students attend school in a small district in a rural, high poverty area.

Many are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Our school strives to keep class sizes small to help meet the needs of each student. This, in turn, leaves little funding left for classroom supplies. I hope to be able to give them all of the resources they may need so they can be successful, happy little learners.

My Project

My students desperately need decodable books to practice reading independently. I have some books in my classroom, but unfortunately not many are decodable. I want to keep their interest in reading with more decodable books for them to read.

My students need fun, engaging books that they can read independently.

Decodable books are so important for my beginning readers that still need phonics-based books to be successful and grow to love reading.

The book bins will be a great addition to our classroom as well! They are a great way to store the books so my students can browse and choose their own books to read during their independent reading time.
