This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Excitable, energetic and enthusiastic is how I describe my students. My first grade students are learning about everything and asking questions about what they are learning about and seeing. The school is located in a Spanish section of a city. My students are provided with lunch and we start every day with breakfast provided by the school in my classroom.

My students and I are on an adventure together learning all the facts and figuring out questions together.

Every day my students have struggles that we work through, like losing their pencil in the middle of the test. Each day brings something new.

My Project

There is no way to create a love of reading if students do not have fun things to read. I would like to create a classroom library so every student can take books home to read every night. There are so many great titles out there that students might love and I want to start somewhere to capture their interest.

In order for students to fall in love with reading they must first find a book that captures their attention.

The books I am requesting are on many different levels so all students will be able to read something in the library. I think flies are gross but my students love to read about Fly Guy so it would be a great resource in my classroom.
