Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My diverse learners are bright, motivated, and one-of-a-kind individuals. They put a smile on my face each and every day, and they all enjoy coming to school and succeeding in the classroom. I feel so blessed to be their special education teacher, and I am lucky to work in such a rewarding field.

My students love choosing books from our classroom library to either read independently or with a friend.

I have noticed that my students usually choose books that I have previously read aloud to them when it is time for independent reading. They want to hear these wonderful stories again and share their favorite stories with their families.

I want to be able to provide my students with quality reading material that will keep them engaged and interested in the story. This will further instill their love for reading, which is the foundation for all learning. Reading has tremendous power when it comes to fueling the development of all aspects of language ability. These new books will be used every day in the classroom during literacy instruction and independent reading. The students will also be able to take these books home to read after school with their families. The children will be thrilled to have more new and exciting options when visiting the classroom library!

Your donation of these wonderful books will greatly improve the quality of our classroom library by making it more engaging and interesting to our wonderful readers. You will help to instill a love for reading in a child, and that is one of the greatest gifts you can give a young learner. Please consider making a positive difference in the life of a child and enhancing their learning experience. Thank you so much!
