Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fourth-grade classroom is a place full of challenge, discovery, and lifelong learning. 100% of the students in our school qualify to receive free or reduced price lunch and 100% of all students eat breakfast and a healthy snack provided daily. My students come to school ready to learn! They are fun, curious learners and full of life. My students are between the ages of 9 and 11. They love to work together and explore new things. It is so important for me to continue to instill a love for learning despite any obstacles they face living in an inner-city.

My fourth graders are eager to learn about the world through reading.

My Project

My students are a diversified group of individuals. They have varying cultures, religions, abilities/disabilities, and family dynamics. It is important that my literacy lessons include material that is relevant to each of their lives.

I want to ensure that my class library is as diversified as the students in my class.

Every student deserves and needs the opportunity to read stories the reflect themselves and their families. Students not only need to read about their lives, but it is critical that I develop a classroom of tolerance of all people. A diversified library will be the first step to compliment class lessons.
