My students need books that engage them and interest them. Building a classroom library for my upcoming 4th grade students is something I am very passionate about and sharing my love of reading with them.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I will be moving grade levels this upcoming school year. I am moving from kindergarten to 4th grade. I will have my second year kindergarten class back! I am more than excited. I will have 28 students in my class next year. These students are always on the go and ready for the next learning activity. I try to keep my students engaged in the activities that are given to them. One of my passions is introducing reading into my students’ lives and giving them the skill sets to be reading at grade level and higher. I love reading stories that my students can enjoy and then turn around and read themselves. Having access to many of the wonderful authors out there is one of my main goals this upcomg school year. I want my students to have access to multiple genres and authors inside my classroom. I am still trying to build my 4th grade classroom library.
My Project
The books that have been selected will be used for a classroom read a louds and also for student book projects. The Tale of Despereaux was used for a classroom book study this past year in 4th grade. The students were so engaged and couldn't wait to watch the movie to compare the similarities and differences between the book and movie.
This class coming to 4th grade this next year have a hard time finding books that they like and want to read.
I specifically picked out books that will target their specific interest and capture their hearts with the story line.
