This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

So many students are still behind because of the impacts of COVID learning. As a second-grade class, more than half of my class is reading below grade level and is working on the basic foundations of reading. These students need books at their reading level to reading independently so that they can continue to progress in their skills. This project will go directly towards putting more books into these students' hands. Having books at students' level boosts their reading ability and grows their confidence as readers. As these readers progress, it is so important that they find continued success through reading at-level texts.
