My Project
My students love to read. They love graphic novels, they love regular novels, and they really love Epic on their laptops. Some days, I can't get them to put down their books. The problem is, I haven't been able to build up a strong classroom library yet - not like what my students deserve.
I want to give my students a classroom library filled with diverse characters written by diverse authors.
Giving my students a classroom library filled with diverse characters and voices will not only feed into their love of reading but will help them expand their worldviews and experience life from perspectives other than their own.
Not to mention all the other benefits that reading for fun can offer, reading can increase a student's vocabulary through word exposure, improve writing skills, and encourage creativity and imagination.
