This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are part of an optional high school program where they are able to attend a private Christian university for college credits. They are hard workers and I learn from them every single day! They are interested in modern-day issues and we constantly relate literature to modern-day situations.

My Project

My students made a point to explain to me that they wanted to read more books by female women of color. I hadn't even noticed that my library was now severely lacking them! Our bookcase have been wonderfully full of books thanks to donors and as students check them out more, they see the pattern that we have more male authors than female. This is why I am asking for help buying more books by women of color.

Students need more than just book, they need stress relieving activities!

The coloring books I got for them have been a tremendous hit. Every page has been ripped out and colored. We definitely need more supplies here!
