My Project
Author Josh Funk is coming to our school on May 12th, and my students are so excited to get to spend the day with him! Josh is a software engineer and the author of the "Lady Pancake & Sir French Toast" series, "How to Code a Sandcastle", "How to Code a Rollercoaster," "Dear Unicorn," "Dear Dragon," "My Pet Feet," the "It's Not a Fairy Tale" series and "Lost in the Library." His books have sold more than half a million copies worldwide and been translated into a dozen languages.
Having copies of his books for our school library would help prepare students for his upcoming visit, and they would be in high demand to be checked out by students after they get the chance to meet him.
His book "Dear Dragon" was a Chickadee Award Nominee in 2017 and we study this book award each year. We also use his books "How to Code a Sandcastle" and "How to Code a Rollercoaster" during our yearly participation in Hour of Code in December. Having these materials written by him would enrich our study of him as we get ready for his visit and would help keep my students excited to read his books.
