My Students

I teach in a school that is very diverse, over 30% of the students are English language learners and 90% of the students are Black, Asian, Hispanic, or identify as two or more races. Almost 80% of the school population qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch.

My goal is for all students to feel welcome in our classroom and also to see themselves and their backgrounds reflected in their learning.

My students come to school each day ready to learn and engage in the world around them. My students are curious, passionate, and problem solvers who are ready to grow and learn each day.

I personalize learning in my classroom through the use of flexible seating, books that provide windows and mirrors for students, technology, and student voice and choice.

My Project

Winter is officially here, which means the snow and cold will be here for the next 3 months...at least! We often find ourselves inside for recess because of temps below zero. We love building and creating during indoor recess and would love more variety in our tools. With it being so cold outside we often find ourselves cozied up next to our fake fireplace with a good book. We love having a diverse selection of books available to us in our classroom.

These books and building tools will help to engage our creative brains throughout this winter!

We can't wait to get our hands on these resources and help spark our creativity and imagination.
