My Project

There is nothing better than holding a book in your hands. You can't wait to read it and you don't want it to end. This is the feeling I hope my students get when they see these new books in our classroom library. Each book was carefully chosen to pique the interest of the students in my fifth grade classes.

By donating to this project, students will be able to choose from a variety of genres including humor, historical fiction, sci-fiction, realistic fiction, etc.

For two years during the pandemic and virtual learning, many students did not have the opportunity to read a variety of books. Because of this, they are not on grade level, so these books will encourage them to read and also prepare them for middle school. Research shows that students who read independently have greater reading comprehension and fluency than those who do not.
