Our students are fantastic! They come from a variety of backgrounds which makes the classroom a very diverse environment. The school is in an urban setting where we have many ELL students. There are over 700 preK-6th grade students at our school. Many of them do not have access to healthy meals, so the school runs a food pantry for students to take food home over the weekend.
These students want to do well, but many lack the tools needed in order to succeed.
My classroom library is in desperate need of being updated! Many of my books are old, worn out, and in poor condition. I also need more of a variety of levels and interests in order to satisfy everyone's reading tastes in the classroom.
Many students struggle with finding just the right book so I need more options to help them out.
The students want to learn, but really struggle with books that are able to capture their attention and are also close to their reading level. I am looking to revamp my whole library and make it much more appealing for my wonderful 6th graders!
