My Students
My students are young, energetic, and curious learners. As first graders, they learn A LOT in a school year. From the basics of using manners and tying their shoes, to the very difficult challenge of learning to read, first grade is a big year!
By donating to my project(s), you will be helping students in a low-income area have access to the best materials possible to help them succeed in what is often considered the most important year of schooling!
My Project
There is no denying that when students first start learning to read that they want to do it all of the time, everywhere they go! Unfortunately, many of my students do not have access to books at home, and at the early stages of learning to read, have a hard time reading independently.
By donating to my project, you will be helping provide students with book bags which they can use to bring home books from our classroom, and CD players, which they can use to listen to books on tape with.
My students will be able to take home 3 books every night, but they need book bags in order to help make sure the books are well taken care of and do not get lost. Then, during the school day, I have many awesome books on tape, but no way for my students to listen to them! With our new CD players, I can have up to 5 kids listening to books at a time.
