Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school, students learn how to read through authentic reading instruction. Students are not given passages to read with questions to answer for a comprehension check. Instead they learn how to read through real, authentic reading experiences in class. This means that they have a choice and voice in what they read.

Just like you, students read real novels and work with complicated texts of their choice.

As an adult, we aren't given passages with comprehension and vocabulary questions. Instead, we read what we are interested in. This project has been designed by students for students. My learners created a list of books they would like and even helped to write the proposal for them! Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our project!
