Help me give my students books in their hands. We began working hard on our reading comprehension skills and need more books to help the students continue their learning.

My Students

My students learn best when presented with a variety of learning tools. They come from different socio-economic backgrounds and light up my day with their laughter and stories. We learn from each other, and I know doing hands-on learning is the best way for them to succeed as 21st-century learners.

I have taught a wide range of students with different skills and personalities.

Each student walks into our classroom with different needs and wants. Working as a classroom community, we develop skills that will help foster their growth as global citizens. We learn best with tactile activities and discussion-based lessons. Our school caters to several different types of students with different home lives. The town may not be a metropolis; however, their heart is large as a community. They have stepped up together to work as a team, which models to the students what is needed for a healthy community.

I have taught a diverse group of students, each student teaching me something different. I enjoy immensely the discussions we have together and the learning that takes place in our classroom.

My Project

My first graders are beginning to connect sounds to words and create longer sentences. With this, the need for ready to read books is fundamental to their development as life-long readers.

Books can change lives.

The confidence I see when a student begins reading on their own is astounding. With the books in this project, my students will have access to a wide array of books in their good-fit level to help project their ability to read independently.

Volume-based reading is monumental to the development of my students and the books will be a launching pad for access to text in their own classroom.
